CAWT Hires New Director

The Centre for Alternative Wastewater Treatment is pleased to welcome Jeremy Kraemer, Ph.D., P.Eng. who began in his role as Director of the CAWT on January 16, 2017.

In his role as Director, Jeremy will be responsible for the promotion and management of all activities within the CAWT, and overseeing all staff and activities within the Centre.

Jeremy comes to the CAWT from a global infrastructure engineering and operations firm, where he most recently managed the design delivery for a $125 million nutrient removal wastewater treatment plant upgrade. For more than ten years, Jeremy has also served in key leadership roles with the Water Environment Association of Ontario (WEAO).

With more than 30 published papers and presentations, Jeremy has proven to be a strong and reputable voice in the industry. Jeremy’s knowledge of water and wastewater treatment and technologies extends to many areas including but not limited to anaerobic reactors, ultraviolet disinfection and a wide variety of liquids and solids treatment technologies, practices and trends.

Jeremy’s business development and leadership skills are equally impressive. Managing projects with budgets in excess of $1 million and part of his prior firm’s global wastewater technology leadership team, Jeremy is well poised to lead the CAWT team and oversee projects.

The position was previously held by Dr. Brent Wootton who has been filling the position on an interim basis. Brent will continue working with Fleming College as Associate Vice-President Business Development, Applied Research, Government and Partner Relations.
